Lydia has 2 goals in life: take good photos and be a good person.

Lydia is a full-time photographer with over 25 years of experience, living in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood. She spends most of her time with the regulars on her couch: her husband, teenage daughter, and an assortment of beloved pets. Outside of photography, Lydia’s hobbies include roller skating, holiday decorating, caring for rabbits, living room karaoke, embracing ‘granny’ pastimes, homesteading, treasure hunting at estate sales, and anything related to David Bowie. She literally exists on coffee, cheese and dry shampoo.

Alongside growing her photography career, Lydia has spent 25 years working as a child care provider, professional nanny, and house manager. She’s known for her patience, grit, and strong DIY ethics, which have shaped her approach to both life and work.

Lydia’s primary objective is to understand and connect with the people she photographs - a skill she’s been repeatedly told she excels at. She takes the time to get to know her subjects, whether through conversation or quiet observation to capture candid moments. For her, a successful session means everyone feels at ease, has a positive experience, and leaves having genuinely enjoyed themselves.
